Are the laces heat/flame resistant: No. Nylon material melts under extreme heat (in other words flame) much like normal synthetic cloth.

How can I get the right sizes: Very easily, simply be absolutely certain of your exact size needs by using a non stretchy test string such as kite string etc. laced exactly how you plan on lacing your laces, where as using online available length guides based on shoe size and holes is very inaccurate, so test it instead, you will be glad you did and these laces will always be good company.

How do I know the length I need?
Measuring shoe lace size with a non stretchy string or old shoe lace and simply lace your shoes the exact way you plan on lacing them and then cut to the length desired and unlace your shoe and measure your lace then order the closet match or next size up. Please understand that each pair of laces is comprised of two separate strings, one for each shoe, each one being the length detailed.
Is this good for dress shoes?
That all depends on the eyelet size of your shoes which most dress shoes have very small eyelets and whether or not you tuck in your laces, so these are recommended instead for active lifestyle shoes and boots that have larger eyelets and where you would tuck in your laces for added security.

Does high quality para cord material with quality metal tips create the perfect lace for all active lifestyles?
Absolutely, the high quality para cord used has a very finely weaved nylon sleeve that not only looks very nice at first, but the new-ish look lasts very long in comparison to normal laces which usually fray very easily in comparison, while the visual appeal of these lasts quite a bit longer. I wear them myself and mine look brand new after wearing them for years. Also while some other brands of shoe laces may have features you may not even need such as a tensile strength of over 1,000 lbs. or Kevlar or Nomex materials, I have found that while those features sound great the flip side is if you do not require those specifications I highly recommend these para cord laces instead because they have stretch being that they are made of 7 inner strands inside a sleeve which provides not just the strength you need for demanding work/play but the flexibility and stretch needed for athletic activities and comfort creating the best combination for the vast majority of users. The metal tips are rust free and attached incredibly secure and will last virtually indefinitely while much more visually appealing than most ordinary plastic tips, where in comparison ordinary lace tips known as aglets actually wear down quite a bit over time.
